Erie's Presque Isle Bay is a 5.8-square-mile recreational asset located in downtown Erie. Its protected waters, sheltered by Presque Isle State Park, provide ideal conditions for boating, fishing, watersports, and competitive events. The bay is approximately 4.6 miles long, 1.8 miles wide, and has an average depth of 20 feet.
Popular activities on the bay include swimming, sailing, crew, diving, kayaking, fishing, sailboarding, and waterskiing. Events previously hosted on Presque Isle Bay include the HydroFlight National Tour, Major League Fishing, Elite Poker Runs and more.
Four hotels are located directly on Erie's bayfront, and there are more than 1,800 hotel rooms total within five miles of Highmark Amphitheater.
Erie’s waterfront is lined with marinas, public parks and piers which can accommodate thousands of spectators. Highmark Amphitheater, a special events facility in Liberty Park on the waterfront, can host up to 5,000 people and is a popular special events venue.
