Due to popular demand, the Erie Sports commission has partnered with ASCEND Climbing to host a second Go Play Days. On Sunday, March 17, ASCEND will once again be providing kids under the age of 14 with the free opportunity to go rock climbing.
Two sessions will be held, the first from 12-1 p.m. followed by a second session from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Although the event is free, participants must register prior to the event. Registration for both sessions opens today and will stay open until full. Registration for this event is predicted to fill up quickly. The previously scheduled March 10 session filled in the first 48 hours of registration.
Each session is limited to 15 participants, each of whom will receive a pass to return to ASCEND Climbing for one day of free rock climbing.
A signed waiver is required for anyone entering the facility including adults and young children. ASCEND will provide climbing shoes, which must be worn when climbing.
ASCEND Erie is a new fitness venue on State Street that offers rock climbing to the public. ASCEND offers many different programs such as personal training, yoga, fitness and climbing. They also provide youth programs that include youth and family climbing sessions, classes, camps, and clubs.
The Erie Sports Commission’s Go Play Day program is supported in part by Lamar Advertising and Erie News Now.
