Lake Erie Cyclefest

Lake Erie Cyclefest 2026 brings cyclists of all ages and abilities together for a four‑day celebration of biking across Erie County from July 23 to July 26. The festival invites riders to experience the region’s diverse terrain, from sandy lakefront roads and old‑growth forests to rolling hills, farmland, and the vibrant downtown core. Participants can choose from a collection of self‑supported rides that highlight Erie’s distinct landscapes, offering scenic routes along the shoreline, through rural countryside, and across the area’s expansive grape‑growing region. The atmosphere is welcoming and community focused, creating a setting that feels equally inviting for seasoned cyclists and newcomers exploring the joy of riding.

Across the extended weekend, Cyclefest features annual favorites alongside new additions. The Downtown Slow Roll opens the festivities on July 23 with an easy, family‑friendly 10‑mile ride beginning and ending in Perry Square. The following day moves the See Spot Ride to historic Waterford, offering multiple distances along quiet rural roads and ending at Port Farms Poverty Knob Brewery with music, food, and adoptable pets from Because You Care, Inc. Saturday’s events include the long‑running Tour de West County, known for its scenic 12‑, 25‑, and 50‑mile routes through wooded areas, meadows, and farmland, as well as the Six Mile Creek Classic for mountain bikers seeking technical terrain and competitive laps. The festival concludes on July 26 with two signature rides: the Presque Isle Sunrise Ride, offering a flat 13‑mile loop accented by lighthouse views and a morning pancake breakfast, and the Grape Escape Ride in North East, hosted by the Erie Cancer Wellness Center.

Presented by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield and AHN Saint Vincent Hospital, Lake Erie Cyclefest continues its tradition of supporting local organizations, with proceeds in 2026 benefiting groups including Asbury Woods, Bike Erie, Because You Care Inc., Erie Downtown Partnership, the Northern Allegheny Mountain Bike Association, the Erie Cancer Wellness Center, and the Presque Isle Partnership. The event blends outdoor adventure, community pride, scenic exploration, and charitable impact, making it one of Erie County’s most anticipated summer gatherings for cyclists and supporters.
