The TransAmerican Motorcycle Endurance Run, a nationwide cross-country endurance event for antique motorcycles, will make a stop in Erie on Sept.10, 2027, as part of its 16-day, 17-stage Great Northern Crossing Route.

The approximately 4,000-mile journey will begin in York, Maine, on Sept. 8. Erie will serve as the third stage on the route, with riders arriving from Hammondsport, New York, before continuing to Mansfield, Ohio. The event will conclude on Sept. 24.

“I have always wanted the TransAmerican Motorcycle Endurance Run to stop in Erie.” Said Kelsey Jackson, race director of the TransAmerican Motorcycle Endurance Run. “This event celebrates the history and endurance of motorcycling, and Erie is a perfect addition to the route.”

The TransAmerican Motorcycle Endurance Run is limited to 75 riders, with more than 50 participants from across the country and internationally already registered for the 2027 event. Eligible motorcycles must be at least 100 years old, making the event a unique showcase of motorcycle history.

“We are excited to support the TransAmerican Motorcycle Endurance Run,” said Ben Huggler, interim executive director for the Erie Sports Commission. “The event attracts riders from across the country and around the world, providing an opportunity to showcase Erie as a sports destination while creating a memorable experience for both participants and the community.”
