The VNEA PA State 8-Ball Tournament will return to Erie this weekend, taking place Thursday through Sunday at the Bayfront Convention Center. The tournament, a longstanding tradition since 1982, is set to draw over 1,400 skilled pool players, solidifying its status as one of the largest 8-ball tournaments in the nation.
With close to 200 pool tables filling nearly every corner of the Bayfront Convention Center, the event expects to bring significant economic benefits to the Erie community, with the potential to generate $1.2 million in estimated economic impact to the region. The VNEA State 8-Ball Tournament is a cornerstone annual event for Erie, showcasing the impact sports tourism has on the region.
This year’s tournament gets underway with a practice session on Thursday. Singles competition is set to begin Friday at 2 p.m., followed by team competition starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The event will conclude on Sunday, with champions crowned.
