Lake Erie Speedway to host the Race of Champions this weekend

The annual Race of Champions, known as “The Greatest Tradition in Modified Racing” returns to Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pa. this weekend, running Friday through Sunday.

The marquee event of the weekend takes place on Saturday with $15,000 on the line for the winner of the Race of Champions Modified Series 250. The 250-lap race caps a full day of racing, starting at 2:30 p.m., including qualifying for Super Stocks, Street Stocks, the FOAR SCORE Dash Series and 602 Sportsman.

“This is the biggest weekend we’ve ever had at Lake Erie Speedway,” said Joe Skotnicki, manager of the Race of Champions Modified Series. “Drivers, teams and fans will come together not only for great racing, but also for a celebration of history, tradition and community.”

The weekend kicks off Friday with free admission to practice sessions running from 4 p.m. until dusk for all divisions as well as the FOAR SCORE Dash Series Opener and wraps up on Sunday at 1:15 p.m. with numerous races including the Asphalt Sportsman Modified Series, Super Stock Series, Four Cylinder Dash Series, TQ Midget Series, Late Model Series, 602 Sportsman Modifieds and FOAR SCORE Four Cylinder Dash Series.
