DESCRIPTION:AKC Scent Work is a dog sport where dogs use their natural scenting abilities to locate hidden odors, communicate the find to their handler, and earn titles through structured levels of competition.<br />

AKC Scent Work, also called Nose Work, is designed to turn a dog’s natural sniffing ability into a fun and rewarding activity. Dogs search for cotton swabs infused with essential oils such as Birch, Anise, Clove, and Cypress, hidden in various locations. The dog must find the scent and alert the handler, who then communicates the find to the judge. The sport emphasizes teamwork, confidence-building, and allows the dog to lead the search while the handler follows.  <br />

Junior Performance Program:  Kids and young adults under the age of 23 can get points for participating in any of our events.  These points lead to American Kennel Club Awards and possible scholarships to college in the future!<br />
